Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Chicken in a Basket by Cady Noland was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 350,000.00 – 450,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 305,000.00 (€ 273,911.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cady Noland achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bluewald in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 9,797,000.00 (€ 8,911,224.30).
