Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Thing I by Brian Calvin was auctioned at Christies in New York in May this year. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 35,479.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Brian Calvin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work California Freeform, which sold at auction in June 2021 for USD 151,200.00 (€ 127,616.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Thing I von Brian Calvin kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 35.479,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Brian Calvin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit California Freeform beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für USD 151.200,00 (€ 127.616,48) versteigert wurde.
