Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Birds by Brian Calvin was sold in the First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in Paris in July this year. The price achieved of GBP 3,780.00 (€ 4,410.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Brian Calvin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work California Freeform in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 151,200.00 (€ 127,616.48).

Die Arbeit The Birds von Brian Calvin wurde im Juli diesen Jahres in der Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.780,00 (€ 4.410,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Brian Calvin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit California Freeform im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 151.200,00 (€ 127.616,48).
