Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Standing Armed Figure Version II by Bernard Meadows was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,925.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Bernard Meadows have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Startled Bird in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 134,500.00 (€ 161,852.75).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Standing Armed Figure Version II von Bernard Meadows kam im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.925,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Bernard Meadows auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Startled Bird im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 134.500,00 (€ 161.852,75).
