Artwork auctioned at nine times the upper estimate price
The work Weary by Ben Johnson was worth USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,336.79) to a buyer in April 2010. This price was achieved in the auction The Estate of Mrs. Harry N. Abrams at Phillips in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ben Johnson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Staats sold at auction in July 2007 with the realized price of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,040.49).

Die Arbeit Weary von Ben Johnson war einem Käufer im April 2010 USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.336,79) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion The Estate of Mrs. Harry N. Abrams bei Phillips in New York erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ben Johnson; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Staats im Juli 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 16.040,49).
