A top price for Ben Johnson
In July 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Staats by Ben Johnson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,040.49), 54% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Staats the most expensive artwork by Ben Johnson that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Ben Johnson
Im Juli 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Staats von Ben Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 16.040,49) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Staats zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Ben Johnson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
