Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ben Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Staats in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 10,800.00 (€ 16,040.49).

Die Arbeit Staircase study I von Ben Johnson kam im Februar 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 875,00 (€ 1.030,68) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ben Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Staats im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.800,00 (€ 16.040,49).
