Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Where The Boys Are (Iwo Jima) by Barnaby Furnas was sold in the Contemporary Curated auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. The auction ended at the price of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,620.24), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Barnaby Furnas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hamburger Hill in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 422,500.00 (€ 293,892.60).
