Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Solo Scenes No.2 by Baldur Helgason was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 30,480.00 (€ 28,608.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Baldur Helgason - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room, which sold at auction in March last year for HKD 756,000.00 (€ 87,028.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Solo Scenes No.2 von Baldur Helgason wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 30.480,00 (€ 28.608,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Baldur Helgason mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für HKD 756.000,00 (€ 87.028,94) versteigert wurde.
