Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Baldur Helgason achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in Hong Kong in June last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale auction, the work Cubist in Room sold for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,599.69) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 250,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Baldur Helgason; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of HKD 756,000.00 (€ 87,028.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Baldur Helgason erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Cubist in Room für HKD 604.800,00 (€ 73.599,69) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 250.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Baldur Helgason; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 756.000,00 (€ 87.028,94).
