Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Baldur Helgason achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Self-Portrait as the Swiss Symbolist Painter Arnold Böcklin sold for HKD 504,000.00 (€ 60,937.27) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Baldur Helgason; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of HKD 756,000.00 (€ 87,028.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Baldur Helgason erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Self-Portrait as the Swiss Symbolist Painter Arnold Böcklin für HKD 504.000,00 (€ 60.937,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Baldur Helgason; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Man Interrupted by an Ostrich in the Pink Room im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 756.000,00 (€ 87.028,94).
