Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Atsushi Kaga achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Usacchi With Orange Boxing Gloves sold for USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Atsushi Kaga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Breakfast in January, which sold at auction in May this year for HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 302,049.93).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Atsushi Kaga erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Usacchi With Orange Boxing Gloves für USD 81.900,00 (€ 76.320,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Atsushi Kaga mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Breakfast in January beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 302.049,93) versteigert wurde.
