This artwork by April Gornik achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2015. In the Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection auction, the work Approaching Night sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 30,257.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by April Gornik - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Delicate Hour (For My Father), which sold at auction in March this year for USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,536.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von April Gornik erzielte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Joy, Love and Peace: The Peter B. Lewis Collection wurde die Arbeit Approaching Night für USD 32.500,00 (€ 30.257,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von April Gornik mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Delicate Hour (For My Father) beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.536,42) versteigert wurde.
