Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by April Gornik achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in February this year. In the Post War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Whirlwind, 1993 sold for USD 19,125.00 (€ 18,039.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by April Gornik - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Delicate Hour (For My Father), which sold at auction in March this year for USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,536.42).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von April Gornik erzielte im Februar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Whirlwind, 1993 für USD 19.125,00 (€ 18.039,05) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von April Gornik mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Delicate Hour (For My Father) beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.536,42) versteigert wurde.
