This artwork by April Gornik achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in August 2018. In the Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art auction, the work Cloud Lake sold for USD 12,500.00 (€ 10,779.58) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by April Gornik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Delicate Hour (For My Father) in March this year with an auction result of USD 75,600.00 (€ 69,536.42).

Dieses Kunstwerk von April Gornik erzielte im August 2018 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Horizon | Post-War and Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Cloud Lake für USD 12.500,00 (€ 10.779,58) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von April Gornik auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Delicate Hour (For My Father) im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 69.536,42).
