Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Illustration Of Art by Antonio Dias was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 125,000.00 – 175,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 137,500.00 (€ 122,374.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Dias - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Free Continent: Natural Richnesses, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 434,500.00 (€ 333,973.87).
