Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Antonio Dias was auctioned at Phillips in New York in November 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 118,169.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio Dias - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Free Continent: Natural Richnesses, which sold at auction in November 2012 for USD 434,500.00 (€ 333,973.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Antonio Dias kam im November 2016 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 118.169,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio Dias mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Free Continent: Natural Richnesses beobachtet, die im November 2012 für USD 434.500,00 (€ 333.973,87) versteigert wurde.
