Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Opaque) by Anthony Pearson was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,724.05). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anthony Pearson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Plaster Positive), which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 22,500.00 (€ 16,495.60).
