The work Seaford during the war by Anthony Devas was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in December 2004. It achieved a price of GBP 776.75 (€ 1,099.32), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 29%. Admittedly, works by Anthony Devas have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reclining Nude in January 2009 with an auction result of GBP 7,820.00 (€ 8,802.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Seaford during the war von Anthony Devas wurde im Dezember 2004 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 776,75 (€ 1.099,32) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 29%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Devas auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reclining Nude im Januar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.820,00 (€ 8.802,69).
