ANNI ALBERS (1899-1994) W/Co screenprint and offset lithograph in colors, on Arches paper, 1974, signed, titled and dated in pencil, numbered 41/60 (there were also ten artist's proofs), published by Jack Pollock Gallery, Toronto, with full margins, in very good condition Image: 15 x 12 1 ⁄ 2 in. (381 x 318 mm.) Sheet: 29 3 ⁄ 4 x 21 7 ⁄ 8 in. (757 x 555 mm.)
Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work W/Co by Anni Albers was sold in the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online auction at Christies in New York in April this year. Here, the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,739.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anni Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Second Movement I-VI in April this year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,945.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit W/Co von Anni Albers wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples: Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 3.024,00 (€ 2.739,13) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anni Albers erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Second Movement I-VI im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 44.100,00 (€ 39.945,65).
