Auction result well in line with expectations
The work GR I (Weber & Danilowitz 71) by Anni Albers was sold in the Contemporary Prints & Multiples auction at Sothebys in New York in July 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,024.00 (€ 2,548.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anni Albers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Second Movement I-VI in April this year with an auction result of USD 44,100.00 (€ 39,945.65).
