Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'The Lone Pine' by Anne Brigman was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,752.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anne Brigman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flame, which sold at auction in April 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,684.34).
