Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Anne Brigman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2007. In the Photographs auction, the work 'The Bubble' sold for USD 14,400.00 (€ 10,541.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Anne Brigman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Flame sold at auction in April 2000 with the realized price of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,684.34).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Anne Brigman erzielte im April 2007 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Photographs wurde die Arbeit 'The Bubble' für USD 14.400,00 (€ 10.541,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Anne Brigman; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Flame im April 2000 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.684,34).
