Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The shadow on my door by Anne Brigman was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,630.34). Admittedly, works by Anne Brigman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flame in April 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,684.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The shadow on my door von Anne Brigman im Oktober 2012 bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 6.000,00 (€ 4.630,34) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anne Brigman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flame im April 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 20.684,34).
