Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Invictus, c. 1924 by Anne Brigman was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,927.64). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anne Brigman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Flame, which sold at auction in April 2000 for USD 18,800.00 (€ 20,684.34).
