In May 2007 Phillips in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Part II, which included the work Cabeza de Vaca (Cow Head) by Andres Serrano. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,800.00 (€ 16,947.89), 27% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andres Serrano achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piss Christ in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 233,776.85).

Im Mai 2007 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cabeza de Vaca (Cow Head) von Andres Serrano zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 22.800,00 (€ 16.947,89) und damit 27% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andres Serrano erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piss Christ im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 233.776,85).
