A top price for Andres Serrano
The work Piss Christ by Andres Serrano was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Session I including Works from the Peter Norton Collection auction at Christies in New York in November 2011. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 314,500.00 (€ 233,776.85). With this result, Piss Christ is even the most expensive work of art by Andres Serrano that we have observed at auctions so far.
