Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gray Moses I and II by Andres Serrano was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April last year. The price achieved of USD 37,800.00 (€ 35,873.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andres Serrano have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Piss Christ in November 2011 with an auction result of USD 314,500.00 (€ 233,776.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gray Moses I and II von Andres Serrano kam im April letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.800,00 (€ 35.873,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Andres Serrano auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Piss Christ im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 314.500,00 (€ 233.776,85).
