Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Supernova No. 3 by Andreas Gursky was auctioned at Phillips in New York in October last year. The price achieved of USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,790.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Gursky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
