Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Chicago, Board of Trade by Andreas Gursky was sold in the A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I auction at Christies in New York in May this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 756,000.00 (€ 709,592.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andreas Gursky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych, which sold at auction in February 2007 for GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Chicago, Board of Trade von Andreas Gursky wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion A Century of Art: The Gerald Fineberg Collection Part I bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 756.000,00 (€ 709.592,64) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Andreas Gursky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 99 Cent Ii, Diptych beobachtet, die im Februar 2007 für GBP 1.700.000,00 (€ 2.520.188,96) versteigert wurde.
