In September 2020 Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work Water Glass 2 by Amanda Means. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 22,500.00 (€ 24,809.91), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Amanda Means; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Light Bulb (008BYs) sold at auction in May this year with the realized price of GBP 38,100.00 (€ 44,329.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im September 2020 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Water Glass 2 von Amanda Means zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 24.809,91) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Amanda Means; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Light Bulb (008BYs) im Mai diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 38.100,00 (€ 44.329,60).
