In May 2008 Christies in New York held the auction Post -War And Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work Springtime in Washington by Alma Thomas. The »bidding war« ended at USD 157,000.00 (€ 100,899.74), 31% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alma Thomas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Fantastic Sunset in May this year with an auction result of USD 3,922,000.00 (€ 3,681,246.48).

Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Post -War And Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit Springtime in Washington von Alma Thomas zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 157.000,00 (€ 100.899,74) und damit 31% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alma Thomas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Fantastic Sunset im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.922.000,00 (€ 3.681.246,48).
