In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Attempt to correlate social class with elevation above main harbor channel, San Pedro, July 1975 by Allan Sekula for USD 7,560.00 (€ 6,372.22). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Allan Sekula have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April 2019 by the work Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) at USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,927.77).
