Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Volunteer Watching Volunteer Smiling (Isla De Ons, 12-19-02) by Allan Sekula for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,484.40). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Allan Sekula have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,927.77).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Volunteer Watching Volunteer Smiling (Isla De Ons, 12-19-02) von Allan Sekula für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.484,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Allan Sekula auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.927,77).
