A top price for Allan Sekula - as previously expected
In April 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) by Allan Sekula. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,927.77) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) is the most expensive artwork by Allan Sekula that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) von Allan Sekula zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.927,77) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Dear Bill Gates (Triptych) das teuerste Kunstwerk von Allan Sekula, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
