In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Cough Control by Alfred Leslie. The result of USD 100,000.00 (€ 81,168.83) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Leslie - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Diana, which sold at auction in April last year for EUR 264,600.00.

Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis

Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cough Control von Alfred Leslie zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 100.000,00 (€ 81.168,83) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Leslie mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Diana beobachtet, die im April letzten Jahres für EUR 264.600,00 versteigert wurde.
