This artwork by Alfred Leslie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in December 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art auction, the work without title sold for USD 21,562.50 (€ 19,051.51) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Leslie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Diana in April last year with an auction result of EUR 264,600.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Leslie erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary ArtFeaturing a Selection of Modern & Contemporary African Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 21.562,50 (€ 19.051,51) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Leslie erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Diana im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 264.600,00.
