Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Doric Order by Alfred Jensen was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 134,328.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Jensen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heaven; Per I and II, which sold at auction in September 2013 for USD 477,750.00 (€ 352,973.77).

Die Arbeit Doric Order von Alfred Jensen wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 163.800,00 (€ 134.328,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Jensen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heaven; Per I and II beobachtet, die im September 2013 für USD 477.750,00 (€ 352.973,77) versteigert wurde.
