Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work For The Cyclops (2) by Alex Olson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,580.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alex Olson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Circulate in October 2014 with an auction result of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 22,344.97).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit For The Cyclops (2) von Alex Olson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.580,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alex Olson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Circulate im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 22.344,97).
