This artwork by Al Held achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May this year. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Apus VII sold for USD 40,320.00 (€ 37,844.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Al Held have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Compass Rose in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 312,500.00 (€ 283,601.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Al Held erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Apus VII für USD 40.320,00 (€ 37.844,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Al Held auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Compass Rose im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 312.500,00 (€ 283.601,05).
