A top price for Al Held
This artwork by Al Held achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the Post-War and Contemporary Art Morning Session auction, the work Compass Rose sold for USD 312,500.00 (€ 283,601.05) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. This high result makes Compass Rose the most expensive artwork by Al Held that we have observed at auctions so far.
