Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Violet Disc by Adolph Gottlieb was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November this year. The price achieved of USD 113,400.00 (€ 103,960.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Adolph Gottlieb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bonac in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 4,812,500.00 (€ 4,250,198.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Violet Disc von Adolph Gottlieb wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 113.400,00 (€ 103.960,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Adolph Gottlieb erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bonac im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.812.500,00 (€ 4.250.198,71).
