In October 2004 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Peonies by Zhou Zhimian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 107,550.00 (€ 10,834.32), 54% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhou Zhimian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Spring Swallows in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peonies von Zhou Zhimian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 107.550,00 (€ 10.834,32) und damit 54% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhou Zhimian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Spring Swallows im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69).
