The work Tang-Styled Zodiac Figures by Zhang Hongtu was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2008. The result of USD 25,000.00 (€ 17,754.42) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 45,000.00. Admittedly, works by Zhang Hongtu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 in May 2007 with an auction result of HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 137,117.37).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Tang-Styled Zodiac Figures von Zhang Hongtu wurde im September 2008 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 17.754,42) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 45.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Hongtu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 137.117,37).
