A top price for Zhang Hongtu
This artwork by Zhang Hongtu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. In the Asian Contemporary Art auction, the work Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 sold for HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 137,117.37) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 550,000.00. This high result makes Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 the most expensive artwork by Zhang Hongtu that we have observed at auctions so far.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Zhang Hongtu erzielte im Mai 2007 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 für HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 137.117,37) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 550.000,00.
