In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Wen Zhengming: Monet by Zhang Hongtu. The auction ended at the price of HKD 500,000.00 (€ 49,577.25), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Hongtu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2, which sold at auction in May 2007 for HKD 1,440,000.00 (€ 137,117.37).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wen Zhengming: Monet von Zhang Hongtu zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 500.000,00 (€ 49.577,25) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Zhang Hongtu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shen Zhou - Van Gogh #2 beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für HKD 1.440.000,00 (€ 137.117,37) versteigert wurde.
