This artwork by Yong Rong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2008. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Peony sold for HKD 271,500.00 (€ 22,351.64) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yong Rong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scholar’S Rock, which sold at auction in May 2021 for HKD 750,000.00 (€ 79,280.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yong Rong erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Peony für HKD 271.500,00 (€ 22.351,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yong Rong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Scholar’S Rock beobachtet, die im Mai 2021 für HKD 750.000,00 (€ 79.280,79) versteigert wurde.
