Upper estimate price exceeded by 100 %.
This artwork by Wu Rangzhi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Prunus and Bamboo sold for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 10,925.45) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Rangzhi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Caoshu in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 130,017.02).
