A top price for Wu Rangzhi
This artwork by Wu Rangzhi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy In Caoshu sold for HKD 1,125,000.00 (€ 130,017.02) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Caoshu the most expensive artwork by Wu Rangzhi that we have observed at auctions so far.
