Auction result misses estimated price range
In March this year a collector was able to acquire the work The unemployed uncle by Wonder Buhle Mbambo for USD 19,050.00 (€ 17,522.08). This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Wonder Buhle Mbambo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Hearts in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 175,000.00 (€ 151,488.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The unemployed uncle von Wonder Buhle Mbambo für USD 19.050,00 (€ 17.522,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wonder Buhle Mbambo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Hearts im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 151.488,92).
